Many of our classrooms have had insulated suspended ceilings fitted recently as part of our conversion to a net zero carbon school. These help to keep the heat in and also reduce the noise reverberation in the classrooms to create a quieter teaching and learning space.

As part of being a net zero carbon school all of our windows are now fully double glazed to keep the heat in and create a comfortable and quieter free teaching and learning environment

Each classroom (and the staffroom) has an indoor air quality sensor constantly measuring the CO2, VOC, Radon, Humidity and Temperature in the rooms and altering the teachers and the head when the air quality falls below the best standards so they can open the windows.

All of our display boards are hessian backed provide a calmer internal environment and can be re-used avoiding larger amounts of paper waste being generated.

As part of being a net zero carbon school all of our lighting is the lowest energy LED units which also provide the best quality light output available, free from flicker, to provide the best possible lighting for teaching and learning.

These air source heat pumps provide all the heating needs for our net zero carbon school.

We have a large array of solar panels on our hall roof to provide electricity to our school. What is not used during the day is stored in battery for use in the evenings.

All of our old cavity walls have been insulated to avoid heat loss in our net zero carbon school and help to create warm and comfortable teaching and learning environments inside.
